[maker-devel] exon names in gff file

Dear Maker development team,

I find in the gff file of exon annotation, it looks like:
ctg631  maker   exon    16239   16243   .       -       .       ID=pInfestans_00016306-RA:exon:96;Parent=pInfestans_00016306-RA;

I am wondering what does “96” mean in ID=pInfestans_00016306-RA:exon:96, it does not look like the exon numbering because not all transcripts have an exon starts from 0.
